Damon Barone

Damon Barone has 20 years of construction, real estate development and asset management experience which began when he graduated from San Diego State University. He spent the next several years in project management and asset management, ultimately becoming Vice President at a New York City-based real estate investment company. His responsibilities included all aspects of business relating to the acquisition, management, and divestiture of real estate assets, including the valuation, negotiation and execution of real estate transactions comprising residential, multi-family, commercial, hotel, and mixed-use projects.

In the following years, Damon was involved in the design, development, renovation, and construction of numerous real estate projects. This continued with him joining a New England-based hotel investment and management group in 2004. His expertise in areas of budgeting, scheduling, value engineering, and project management helped him develop, coordinate and implement the short- and long-term capital improvement plans for the company’s 18-hotel portfolio throughout the U.S.

Damon’s success with the company’s existing hotel portfolio led to the formation of a New York City-based design & construction division. His skills were used to coordinate and implement strategic plans for various phases of design, development, and construction of 10 new hotel projects, including brands from Starwood, Hilton, and InterContinental Hotels. He was directly responsible for the oversight and coordination of a team that included 6 architects, 4 interior designers, 3 general contractors, and 8 project managers. In less than two years, he was instrumental in building the company into the top hotel developer in New York City, with projects comprising nearly 2,000 rooms valued at close to $900 million.
