Aircraft Maintenance Hangar | MCAS Miramar (P-201)
Project Details
Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar is developing a new Aircraft Maintenance Hangar to support next-generation Marine Corps aviation operations. The facility is designed to accommodate advanced aircraft maintenance requirements while expanding flight line, apron, administrative, and support infrastructure at the installation.
New Aircraft Maintenance Facility
The project includes a large maintenance hangar with high-bay service areas and integrated support spaces for aircraft maintenance personnel and operations. The facility will provide modern infrastructure designed to support the evolving maintenance needs of the Marine Corps aviation fleet. NAVFAC describes the project as a 168,000-square-foot maintenance facility with two hangar modules and an integrated two-story support building.
Flight Line and Infrastructure Improvements
Extensive site improvements are also part of the project, including new aircraft pavement surrounding the hangar, along with utility, lighting, and operational support infrastructure. These improvements are designed to improve aircraft movement, maintenance efficiency, and long-term mission capability at MCAS Miramar.
Supporting Federal Aviation Projects
Watkins Environmental supports federal and military construction projects with specialized environmental and demolition services. Depending on project requirements, these capabilities can include selective demolition, commercial demolition, and other environmental services that help prepare military facilities and sites for construction and modernization.
Supporting Marine Corps Aviation Readiness
The new Aircraft Maintenance Hangar will provide MCAS Miramar with expanded infrastructure designed to support aircraft maintenance, flight operations, and long-term Marine Corps aviation readiness.
