Bonita Vista High School

Project Details

Bonita Vista High School, part of the Sweetwater Union High School District, is undergoing major upgrades to improve its academic, athletic, and shared campus facilities.

New Academic Facility

The project includes the demolition of the existing Building Q autoshop and construction of a new 16,445-square-foot facility. The new building will include seven classrooms designed to support specialized programs such as sports medicine, automotive technology, digital photography, multimedia, engineering, and dance.

Campus and Athletic Improvements

Additional improvements include transforming the central quad with five new lunch structures, a performance stage, seating walls, and enhanced landscaping.

The volleyball facilities are also being upgraded, with new sand courts replacing the existing hard courts. Accessibility improvements are being made throughout the campus to support ADA compliance and create a more accessible environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Hazardous Material Abatement

Watkins Environmental played an important role in preparing the site for demolition and construction by providing hazardous material abatement services. Our team safely removed asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paint from existing structures in accordance with applicable regulations.

Through professional commercial asbestos removal and commercial lead removal, we helped create a safer work environment for contractors while preparing the campus for its new and improved facilities.
