Child Development Center Project (P-250) | MCAS Miramar

Project Details

Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar completed a major new Child Development Center complex designed to expand childcare capacity for military and Department of Defense families. The project includes two single-story facilities totaling more than 62,000 square feet and 37 classrooms serving more than 450 children from six weeks to five years old.

New Child Development Facilities

The complex includes dedicated classrooms and support spaces designed for infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children. Together, the two facilities significantly expand early childhood care capacity at MCAS Miramar and provide modern learning environments for military families stationed in the San Diego region.

Sustainable Federal Construction

The project incorporated sustainable design and construction practices and achieved LEED Silver certification, supporting energy efficiency and long-term facility performance.

Supporting Military and Federal Projects

Watkins Environmental supports complex federal and military construction projects with environmental and demolition services tailored to active facilities and specialized project requirements. Depending on project scope, these services can include selective demolition, commercial demolition, and other environmental services.
