Mission Valley Macy’s Redevelopment Project
Project Details
Watkins Environmental completed comprehensive hazardous material abatement and interior demolition at the former Macy’s department store in Mission Valley, San Diego. The work prepared the existing building for a major mixed-use redevelopment by safely removing hazardous materials and clearing interior spaces for future construction.
Asbestos and Lead Abatement
Before demolition began, Watkins Environmental performed extensive hazardous material abatement throughout the former department store. The scope included commercial asbestos removal, commercial lead removal, and the safe handling of other identified hazardous building materials.
Commercial Interior Demolition
Following environmental abatement, Watkins performed comprehensive interior demolition to remove existing interior building components and prepare the property for redevelopment. Coordinating abatement and demolition helped streamline site preparation while addressing the environmental requirements associated with the existing structure.
Preparing Mission Valley for Redevelopment
