Valhalla High School Physical Education Building Modernization Project

Project Details

Valhalla High School, part of the Grossmont Union High School District, completed a targeted modernization of its Physical Education Building to improve athletic facilities, student wellness spaces, accessibility, and extracurricular support areas.

Locker Room and Gymnasium Renovations

The project included modernization of both the boys’ and girls’ locker rooms to improve functionality and accessibility. The small gym was also renovated to better align with current high school athletics standards, while a new 1,500-square-foot weightlifting room was added to expand training opportunities for students.

Interior Facility Improvements

Existing interior spaces were repurposed to create new wrestling, band, dance, and team rooms, giving students and staff more flexible spaces for athletics and extracurricular programs.

Watkins Environmental supports school renovation projects with services such as interior demolition and selective demolition, helping prepare existing facilities for upgrades while preserving surrounding areas that remain in use.

HVAC and Infrastructure Upgrades

A new HVAC system was installed in the gymnasium to improve air quality, comfort, and energy efficiency throughout the upgraded athletic space.

Modernized Athletic and Student Spaces

The completed improvements provide Valhalla High School with safer, more functional, and versatile facilities that support physical education, athletics, wellness, and a wide range of extracurricular programs.
