Our Asbestos Removal Process

Hiring a professional asbestos abatement company is the wisest and safest decision when it comes to removing asbestos from any residential or commercial building.

Our team always follows strict regulations and procedures, and the safety of our employees and your home is our top priority.

Our Trusted Asbestos Removal Process:

Step 1. Containment: Regulating the work area

Once our workers arrive on site, they will begin the asbestos abatement process by setting up a containment area. This process involves sealing air ducts, disabling HVAC systems, setting up negative pressure equipment, and protecting the walls, floors, ceilings, and any other necessary areas with poly sheeting. This is done to prevent any asbestos fibers from escaping the area.

Step 2. Asbestos Removal

Using abatement suits and personal air monitoring equipment, our team will manually remove the asbestos-containing materials, sealing them in special asbestos disposal bags. We dispose of the waste according to government and safety regulations. We will also establish a decontamination chamber, adjacent to the work area containment, to be used for exiting the work area.

Step 3. Area Cleanup

Once all of the materials have been removed, we thoroughly clean the area. A high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) vacuum is used to gather small particles of dust.

Following the removal of all asbestos-containing material, it is required that the area is tested by a third-party certified air sampler. This ensures that the asbestos abatement contractor followed proper procedures during the abatement process and any airborne asbestos is well below permissible levels.

What is Asbestos? The Danger of Asbestos

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral composed of soft and flexible fibers that are resistant to heat, electricity and corrosion. These qualities make the mineral useful, but they also make asbestos exposure highly toxic.

Asbestos is an effective insulator, and it can be used in cloth, paper, cement, plastic and other materials to make them stronger; however, when asbestos dust is inhaled or ingested, mineral fibers can become permanently trapped in the body.

Asbestos was widely used until the 1970s, when researchers began discovering the health risks associated with exposure. Asbestos is now widely recognized as a carcinogen, and exposure to asbestos can cause mesothelioma, a type of lung cancer.

Can I keep my personal items in the room that is being worked on?

In order to set up a proper containment, prior to our team arriving, we will need you to remove all items from the room/areas that are being worked on but those items can be relocated to other parts of the home/space that are not being worked on. For instance, if you’re having your living room worked on, most/all items will typically be moved to the garage.

What kind of vehicle will your team be bringing?

We will have a company-branded truck that can fit in a common parking space and will need to be available/reserved prior to arrival for our team to bring in and move equipment.

What time will you arrive?

Typically we’ll arrive at 7:30am to start work at 8:00am. We have some flexibility with start times, so feel free to let our team know if more coordination is needed.

Do I need to be at the home or space?

Please let us know if you or a person with access will be at the location when we arrive to allow access for our crew. We will require a key or lockbox code in order to get in and out of the building.

We’ll keep the key/lockbox code and lock up every day and return the key when the project is completed.

You cannot be there while the work is being done to avoid any exposure to the materials.
